Why we built it
A therapist sees a client for about an hour a week. That hour does real work — but the week is 168 hours long, and everything else happens in the other 167. By the next session, the week gets reconstructed from memory, and memory is fuzzy: it loses the rough patch on Tuesday and the small win on Thursday, and it leans toward however the last day or two went. Risk can build quietly in between, seen by no one. And too many sessions open with a vague “so, how’ve you been?” that spends the first ten minutes just catching up.
Mind167 closes that gap. Clients do quick daily check-ins — mood, symptoms, sleep, medication, and the week’s small wins — and keep in-the-moment tools within reach for the hard moments: a breathing pacer, grounding, their own coping skills, and a personal safety plan. Over time it becomes a clear chart of the trend, and when the check-ins point to rising risk, Mind167 surfaces a safety alert to the therapist — so concerns are seen, not missed between appointments.
Privacy and security, on purpose
Mental-health data is some of the most sensitive there is, and Mind167 is built that way from the ground up. It runs on HIPAA-eligible AWS infrastructure, with encryption in transit and at rest, strict least-privilege access — a client’s record is reachable only by that client and their own therapist — and audit logging on access to protected health information.
Just as important is what Mind167 is not. It is a companion to care, not a replacement for it: it supports the work that happens in the room, and it doesn’t stand in for a clinician, a diagnosis, or crisis services.
Who’s behind it
Mind167 is built and operated by Lee Wilkins, founder of TASHABAR LLC — who also serves as the company’s CEO, CCO, and Security & Privacy Officer, the person accountable for how protected health information is handled.
Lee is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA, ICAEW) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), with more than a decade in compliance, forensic investigations, and integrity services — a career spanning a Big Four consultancy, a major IT service provider, and a boutique compliance and investigations firm. That work has run from anti-bribery and FCPA audits in high-risk jurisdictions to healthcare-compliance reviews for pharmaceutical clients — the same discipline Mind167 is built on: provable records, defensible controls, and audit trails that hold up under scrutiny.
It’s a deliberately small, founder-led company. Every support message is answered by the person who built the product, and every security decision has a name — and a credential — attached to it.
